What to bring

So this is an unConference, right? Right! But as the organisers we have a duty of care to make sure you’re looked after and to help ensure you make the most of your experience at StixCamp. So, we’ve made a list below of stuff that you might want to consider bringing - to make sure you have a great time, and to make sure we have less to worry about :)

  • Sunscreen, hat and clothing - this is Central Victoria in summer - it could be cold, hot or somewhere in between
  • (If you’re camping) - you’ll need a sleeping bag, tent etc
  • Water bottle - there will be water but you will need a water bottle. Keep your water bottle with you at all times and drink (water) frequently to prevent dehydration.
  • Any medication you need (or might need). If you have specific allergies or an action plan for us to follow in the event of an emergency, please make sure you let one of the organisers know.
  • Change of clothes and deodorant - we’ll have a couple of bush showers and the caravan park has showers for $5. In the interests of others you might want to bring some BO basher :)
  • Cash - we’re not going to roll you, don’t worry. But you might want cash for the pub, or the Bush Dance or one of the other attractions around Newstead and Castlemaine. This is the country, not everywhere has an ATM (but there are a couple around).
  • Sensible shoes and socks - this is the Stix. There are snakes.
