its time for my input (being one of the 'hated' gamers).
first of all i want to thank every one for the great weekend, sorry i did not thank you in person (but when begging for a ride you cant be to picky). as for said comments "having a LAN party taking up one side of the room" this was hardly a choice with such limited desk space and three desktops. as for "definitely against the grain of what we were all there for"
i just want to make it clear that not me nor one of my friends have ever been to one of these events before, wile i don't resent such comments you should at least take this into consideration. with zero idea of the level of formality i was unprepared at best.
"If you want to allow gamers in the future" i suggest some warning of this. like a list of rules EG
-using in game chat only ect. ect.
"But leeching the donated bandwidth to download game updates" just for the record my torrent only downloaded 300 meg. such a 'huge' amount (tho i cant speak for my friends) if you had a problem with this some one should have mentioned "try not to use to much BW...ect"
as for "talking amongst themselves" i have to agree with you on this one but after Ron mentioned to us that some (MOST) people hated us talking i tyred to keep it down to a whisper.
"getting the boot." the very idea of this is ridiculous with zero warning prior to event, not to mention that we had no way of getting home if we did "get the boot"
in summery tho i thank you for the great experience you wont have to worry about us ruining your fabulous event any more. now i understand that its not the place for a casual pc user such as my self.
thanks regardless -luke

Hi all,

Well, I will be getting the 8:15 train to Castlemaine and the V-Line bus to Welshmans Reef, just thought I'd post this to let everyone know that I will not be needing a lift.

We are encouraging people to get the 9:15 train - arriving at 10:54. A cab is about $25-30 to the venue, split between 4 should work relatively cheap. We looked at booking the maxi taxi but there wasn't enough interest. If things change by tomorrow lunch time we can book it.

If there is only 1 or 2 people, maybe someone could swing by and pick you up on the way through.

I live in Pakenham and will be getting the early train to Southern Cross Station, is there enough interest for train travellers to Castlemaine to be able to be picked up(ferried) to Welshmans Reef?
