About the organisers
Ben Balbo: Ben is an experienced PHP professional and the author of a book on this widely utilised web programming language. His hard work and dedication brought about the highly successful BarCampMelbourne events in 2007 and 2008. Ben is a key facilitator of a number of IT development communities in Melbourne and surrounding areas including the Melbourne PHP Users’ Group, and the PubStandards discussion group.
Dave Hall: Dave runs Dave Hall consulting, a business specialising in open source solutions. Dave is active in his local community of Newstead, near Castlemaine in central Victoria, and most recently has garnered support for the area to run their own wireless network.
Donna Benjamin: Donna is the executive director of Creative Contingencies, a Melbourne based IT development business specialising in open source applications. Donna is President of Linux Users’ Victoria and has previously organised several conferences, including Linux Conference Australia and the Software Freedom Day events.
Kathy Reid: Kathy holds a management role in IT with Deakin University and is on the management committee of PHPWomen, a global group dedicated to assisting women to learn computer programming, specifically in the PHP language. Kathy has previously assisted in organising BarCampMelbourne, the Go Girl Go For IT! showcase among others.
